The director for 4-H Zimbabwe Foundation Mr Muchenje was live on NRTV where he unpacked the work that 4-H Zimbabwe does.
He highlighted that 4-H Zimbabwe focuses on 3 thematic areas, thus peace and governance, healthy living and environment and food security, agriculture and climate action.
He highlighted that 4-H Zimbabwe is working with youth across the political divide to promote peace in Zimbabwe. The organisation successfully brought together youth from all 11 political parties in Zimbabwe. And that has received recognition from African Union and internationally from Peace and Sport (Monaco); and World Justice Project (USA).
He further highlighted that the organisation has addressed the critical intersection of water, food security, and gender equity by empowering women to lead sustainable agricultural practices. 4-H Zimbabwe has empowered AGRITEX officers and over 2000 farmers with knowledge on climate smart and Indigenous farming techniques for enhanced climate change resilience and sustainable food security. , the organisation has facilitated drilling of 16 solar powered boreholes for safe water provisioning and established 16 women gardens in Chiwundura and Hurungwe Rural Districts. By incorporating sports into our programs, 4-H Zimbabwe tackles issues such as drug and substance abuse and fosters emotional and mental well-being. These activities provide positive outlets for youth and encourage healthy lifestyles, contributing to a more vibrant, resilient, and developed community.
