4-H Zimbabwe held a three-day ward based training program in Hurungwe West. The wards that were capacitated include ward 26, 24 and 16. The first day in ward 26, the organisation was graced by the presence of a representative from the Embassy of Canada, Thembile Phuthe.

The organization aims to capacitate community farmers on their understanding of climate change so that together we can come up with strategies and recommendations for policy advocacy. In day one there was a total number of 129 attendees, comprising of 31 youth.

Program Manager for 4-H Zimbabwe, Didmus Dewa explained the relation between Climate Change and Agriculture to the community members. He explained the need and importance of using conservative agriculture and why the organisation is implimenting this project. The community members then gave their suggestions on their needs as a community in order to be climate resilient. These needs included an addition of solar boreholes, gardens chickens and the provision of chicks that will provide eggs for them to sell.

One of the beneficiaries from ward 16 and host for the day three demonstrations, 101 years old Gogo Mararahanda expressed her gratitude for the work that was done on her field. She also thanked the organisation for the seeds that were donated for her. She then explained how hard it is for her to work in her field at her old age, and that by ploughing her whole field, the community has shown so much unity and humility.

Member of Parliament for Hurungwe, Hon Kambuzuma was present on the third day in ward 16. She encouraged the community members to adhere to the education that they are receiving from 4-H Zimbabwe and Agritex officers from the wards.

Councilor Matimbe from Ward 16 gave closing reamrks, he thanked 4-H Zimbabwe for considering empowering their district as a whole. He emphasized the importance of pfumvudza/intwasa farming methods as it provides so much produce in a short piece of land.
