4-H Zimbabwe held a Constituency Soccer Tournament on the Saturday in Hurungwe West in a bid to use sport as a tool to promote peace and anti-drug abuse to the youth in the Constituency.

Five wards were present to play for a prize of soccer kits and balls. Each team was awarded a soccer ball and only the ones that made it to the finals were given botg the kits and the balls.
The event was graced by the presence of the Member of Parliament for Hurungwe West, Honourable Chinjai Kambuzuma, who added five more balls and prize money for the participants.

The wards represented were 15, 26, 17, 25 and 26, with ward 15 and 17 making it to the finals. Ward 17 emerged as the winner for the tournament.
Mr Chipisa Emmanuel, the Ward Development Coordinator from Ministry of Youth made sure to spread the message of peace and anti-drug abuse to all the young the young people that were present at the event.
“Let us make sure we maintain peace at all times, and this peace can be maintained when we desist from the abuse and substance abuse. Drugs are also harmful to our health and will give you less chances of succeeding in life.”
4-H Zimbabwe has used sports to communicate the message of peace and anti-drug abuse in communities all around Zimbabwe. The organization has also used sports to improve the physical and mental health of inmates Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison and all the Midlands based serving stations in a Provincial tournament at Whawha Medium Prison.
Giving closing remarks, Executive Director for 4-H Zimbabwe, John Muchenje commended the youth from Hurungwe Constituency for showing up in numbers to support this initiative. He highlighted that the organization will continue to effectively used sport as a tool to spread critical messages to the youth around Zimbabwe.
