The organization has done community development work through three thematic areas thus 1) food security, agriculture, and climate change 2) peace and governance, and 3) healthy living and environment.

Food Security, Agriculture and Climate Action – this initiative addresses the critical intersection of water, food security, and gender equity by empowering women to lead sustainable agricultural practices. Through training and support, 4-H Zimbabwe has empowered AGRITEX officers by providing more than 50 smart tablets and equipping over 5000 farmers with knowledge on climate smart and indigenous farming techniques for enhanced climate change resilience and sustainable food security. As part of community development, the organization has facilitated the drilling of 16 solar powered boreholes for safe water provisioning and established 16 women gardens in Chiwundura and Hurungwe Rural Districts.

Peace and Governance – in appreciating the nexus between peace and development, 4-H Zimbabwe is working with youth across political divide in promoting peace in Zimbabwe. A peaceful society is a better platform for development. The organisation successfully brought together all 11 political parties, impacting more than 100 000 youth in Zimbabwe. It has also received recognition from African Union and internationally from Peace and Sport (Monaco); and World Justice Project (USA). These programs engage diverse community members in activities that build mutual understanding, significantly contributing to a more peaceful and developed society.

Healthy Living – the organisation’s Sport4Development methodologies play a crucial role in promoting healthy living environment. By incorporating sports into our programs, 4-H Zimbabwe tackles issues such as drug and substance abuse, and fosters emotional and mental well-being. These activities provide positive outlets for youth and encourage healthy lifestyles, contributing to a more resilient and developed community. The organization has also taken its interventions to Chikurubi Maximum Security  Prison in promoting mental and physical well-being through sport.
