Celebrating UN Peacebuilding Week: 22 to 26 June 2026

As the world marks the first-ever UN Peacebuilding Week under the theme “Partnerships for Innovation, Inclusion and Impact,” we reflect on a significant milestone in Zimbabwe’s peacebuilding journey, the Inaugural Youth Peace Pledges signed in 2023 by Youth Representatives from 11 political parties that participated in the Harmonized Elections. The Peace Pledges demonstrated that young people can rise above political differences and commit to peace and political tolerance. They remain a powerful example of youth-led peacebuilding and highlight the critical role young people play in promoting social cohesion, democratic participation, and sustainable peace in the world.
